Psalm 121 (The Message Bible)

I look up to the mountains;

does my strength come from mountains?

No, my strength comes from God,

who made heaven, and earth, and mountains.

He won’t let you stumble,

your Guardian God won’t fall asleep.

Not on your life! Israel’s

Guardian will never doze or sleep.

God’s your Guardian,

right at your side to protect you—

Shielding you from sunstroke,

sheltering you from moonstroke

God guards you from every evil,

he guards your very life.

He guards you when you leave and when you return,

he guards you now, he guards you always.

O God, be my help today. You see my weaknesses and my brokenness. Bring healing and strength. Help me to more closely follow your lead. And, even though this scares me, help me to bring others along. Do they need a listening ear? Do they need an encouraging word? Do they need me specifically because I have already experienced places of healing and strength in my life, thanks to you. Help me to help them. Give me the courage I need to be your hands and feet to the people around me today. Amen
