1 John 4:1

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God; for many false prophets have gone into the world.

OPEN YOUR HEARTS

What is feeding your soul?

Who and what is giving you life today?

It is easy to get blinded by stuff, things that feed our ego and not our spirit, as well as follow man's footsteps and not God.

We are human and let things get in the way. We elevate our self need. We all do it. The only difference is the degree to which we seek materialism, people's opinions and anything else that causes us to stray from God. So, John urges us to take a moment to reflect on what is giving us life. Who is feeding our soul?

And that answer, beloved, is God.

God so loved the world that he gave us salvation, redemption, guidance, unyielding love and grace. Grace for when we stray, point our eyes away from the cross and move our feet from the guided path.

So, I echo John's question, beloved: How is God giving you life, and how is the Word lifting you?

Please take a moment and answer. Then allow that to guide your footsteps. Be open to having the Spirit move within you.

Heavenly Father, help us to remember we are not in charge. Amen
